Another version of the ultra classic - Northern Traverse. Great time of the year because of the stable weather. Cold conditions obviously dominated lately. At night it is very frosty and all streams are iced up! 🥶 Of course if you are prepped for the cold, no worries!!

Opening the first route 🧗🏻‍♂️🤘at a crag that is to become a new climbing area on Kerkenberg Mountain. ‘Goose One’, following a natural line probably graded around 19, perhaps an optimistic 20 😎.

Not only is this a new climbing area in the making, but also the home base of a new trail run - @_ossewatrail. The first edition is taking place from 11-13 April 2025. Entries open. Check it out. 🏃‍♂️⛰️

The brilliance continues. Haven’t had this good weather ☀️🕶️ in a very, very long time. Just goes to show…go for the Berg during late April, May and June. The Northern Traverse from Sentinel to Cathedral Peak remains world class.

We are all always going on about convenience right, especially where it is not convenient. Battling with food in a place where there are no facilities of any kind anywhere, it can become pretty inconvenient. Not to worry, just give the okes @foreverfresh.sa a line. They sorted us proper 🫡😎.

Beacon Buttress West Gully, Drakensberg. This is a cool rock climb up four pitches that tops out between the Tugela Waterfall and chain ladders. Heading up the escarpment/Amphitheatre the way a bit less used 🤙🏻😎, yeah!!

Some unexpected late drenching on the Amphitheater led to some stunning waterfall viewing. The ultimate of course the highest waterfall in the world!! 🌍 It has been amazing all year. Not to mention the equally impressive Elands River Waterfall.

Well done Treverton. You guys are for real. Doing a source to sea means you follow the water course on the water. On this river doing that is no mean feat. Except for the really big stuff every meter of the river was paddled.
